Alexander and Baldwin Honors Tuition Grant Recipients

The Edventure program at UH Maui College has been offering non-credit course training and skill building to more than 12,000 Maui students annually. For those of us who lack deep pockets, Alexander & Baldwin Foundation is helping keep costs down with tuition grants. On June 7, UH Maui will host a reception at Leis Family Class Act in the Paina Building from 5:30 to 7pm to celebrate those who've benefited. During the reception, A&B plans to reveal a check to the Office of Continuing Education (OCET).more

TALES FROM THE PELLET GUN It took a few days to nail down the key details, but it's now looking like a Maui Police Officer shot and killed Marshall "Mosi" Langford, 31, of Wailuku during a May 22 confrontation involving a stolen car. According to news accounts as well as statements put out by the County of Maui and the Maui PD, Langford was at the wheel of a blue 2010 Chevy Impala rental car that was reported stolen a week before when police spotted him in the parking lot of the Mana Kai Maui Resort in Kihei.more
