Are you a returning expat with a science or engineering degree in your back pocket? If so, Maui Economic Development Board (MEDB)'s Women in Technology (WIT) wants to help you find a job. This Friday, Aug. 3, you're invited to their Kama'aina Come Home Expo at MEDB's Ke Alahele Center in Kihei, which runs 12-2pm. Even if you're home for the summer while earning your science, technology, engineering and math degree, WIT says it's not too early to start planning your return home to a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) career on Maui.

The Kamaaina Come Home project started in 2006, and operates as a collaboration between Kama'aina Careers on the West Coast and WIT. Mapu Quitazol, WIT's project manager, says they have 13 companies lined up with potential positions. If your resume needs work, they also offer a free two-hour workshop on Thursday at 2pm in the Donald G. Malcolm Center. To register, email mapu@medb.org.

Participants are encouraged to register their resumes online at hightechmaui.com. Those who pre-register will remain in the database for three years and their resumes will be accessible to tech company partners. Jobs currently available at the expo include developers (Java, Oracle, software), engineers (system, quality assurance, network, civil, mechanical), architects and administration. For more information, contact Quitazol at 808-875-2343.
