Pro Windsurfing

March 10, 2005
[WINDSURFING] We've all seen the pretty sails and surfers flying about at Ho'okipa Beach. It's like the most famous windsurfing beach in the world. That's what steady Pacific swells combined with steady 10-25-knot tradewinds will do for you. Guess that's why they're holding the Jeep Hawaii Pro there—top windsurfing contest requires the top beach. It's what Professional Windsurfers Association event organizer Rich Foster calls "a highly competitive environment." In other words, you've got the finest windsurfers anywhere—many of whom live on the North Shore—just itching for that top slot. The Pritchard brothers will be there—Matt and Kevin—as well as a host of other guys who call Maui home. You can check daily highlights online at www.high.tv as well as event results at www.pwaworldtour.com. [ANTHONY PIGNATARO]
