I'll admit it. When I was growing up in the surprisingly heavy rock scene of the golf course laden lands of Bob Hope and Frank Sinatra otherwise known as Palm Springs, I used to make fun of the local band of Queens' origins, Kyuss. Back then I thought a rock band of my peers who took themselves so seriously was declasse. Over the years, as I've followed the sonic successes of vocalist/bassist Josh Homme and guitarist Nick Oliveri, I've been forced to eat my words; their first and second albums kicked ass. Majorly.
