[DRAG RACES] As everyone who's anyone knows, the development of drag racing—the cars, not the transvestites—occurred simultaneously with the establishment of NATO in the post-World War II era, which in itself was only tangentially connected to the fact that Alben W. Barkley happened to be serving quite adequately as this nation's Vice President in the Truman Administration. Or something like that. Look, this is drag racing we're talking, here. You pay $9 and go watch people race souped-up hot rods, muscle cars or minivans as the air fills with the scents of gasoline, grease and burning rubber—and that's just on the drive into the track!
