[STAGE] Mana'o Radio is presenting a live music and storytelling collaboration to celebrate the CD release of
Rank Devil Mountain
. Jeff Gere's enthusiasm and storytelling will be the feature of the show, with support from Sandra Lee Akaka's percussion performance, Les Adams' piano, and Alana Cini's unique playing of an Australian instrument called a didgeridoo. Gere runs the yearly Talk Story Festival and hosts Mana'o's‚ Talk Story Radio every Sunday. This foursome has already performed twice on the show and both performances have been made into CDs,
Rank Devil Mountain
being the recording of the second aired show. In two acts, Gere will tell real-life supernatural events that have occurred around the islands involving Menehune, haunted graveyards and a Hawaiian sorceress. Remembering tradition, culture and history of the Islands, "Haunted Hawaiian Tales" is an excellent exhibition of the power of spoken word and music. This group has an enchanting chemistry and the performance will turn the MACC's McCoy studio audience back into children, captivated by stories we all love to fear. Adults $12, kids $5.
