Masquerade Ball
Saturday, 5-9:30 p.m. at the Olowalu Plantation House

October 27, 2005 [PARTY] Maui OnStage is hosting their second annual Masquerade Ball—"An Evening of Stars II." Like last year, you can expect the sultry jazz of Benoit Jazz, ever flowing cocktails, a medley of musical theater and dance ensembles, a dinner extravaganza, dancing, a treasure hunt, silent and live auctions, and a costume contest. You're encouraged to don your best for the occasion and to even dress as your favorite screen or stage star.EOf course, masks are available at the event for anyone a little shy to let loose. But the event is more than just a spectacular evening with the stars under the stars—it's an event to benefit Maui OnStage. "Art helps create livable cultures for cities," said Darla Palmer, Maui OnStage executive director. "It's difficult to keep going but important for the fabric of the community." Maui OnStage is also teaming up with Arts Unite,Ea group of arts organizations across the country who have come together to support hurricane relief. Tickets are $75 and discounts are available for groups of eight or more. For info, call 242-6969. [REBECCA NORTHCUTT]
