[SURF] My mama always told me, there's no better time for a surf competition than two days after Thanksgiving. There'll be the usual divisions on Saturday: menehune, juniors, men's and women's open. And on Sunday: drop knee open, stand up open, freestyle surf and body surfing open. The entry fee ($20 by Friday, $30 on Saturday) will get you a contest t-shirt, plate lunch and hello, the chance to play. Plus, it's put on by the fine folks of Paia Youth and Cultural Center—you know, that nonprofit org on the beach that does good things for kids and our community, like building Stonewave Skate Park and their latest innovative and entirely cool Video Production Program.
