[BALLET] It's the holidays—that special time of year reserved for compulsory consumption and free-flowing guilt. But it's also time for lovelier things, like cranberry sauce and Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker." Ballet Hawaii's second annual performance of it on Maui will feature dancers from San Francisco, Maui and Oahu, and staging by Pamela Taylor-Tongg. It's a time-honored tradition to see this classic production, and far better than passing out on the couch from too much tryptophan. Tickets: $20, $25, $35 ($10 discount for kids 12 & under).
