January 12, 2006 [MUSIC] Combining folksy storytelling and traditional country blues with a contemporary twist of soul and gospel music, Keb' Mo' has become a legend in the modern blues world. Since his first self-titled album in 1994, he's won Grammy Awards for contemporary blues album in 1997 and 1999. He's made numerous television appearances, including all the major talk shows—Late Night with David Letterman, Conan O'Brien, Rosie O'Donnell—as well as Sesame Street and Martha Stewart Living. He's composed scores and starred in Spunk and Lost Highway—he even portrayed Robert Johnson in the docu-drama Can't You Hear the Wind Howl and was interviewed in Martin Scorcese: Feel Like Going Home. Of course, there's also the music for series Boston Public, Melrose Place, Touched By an Angel and Felicity, as well as commercials for AT&T and Victoria's Secret. And yet, in spite of all this, Keb' Mo' is low-key and reflective. In the title track of his latest album, Keep It Simple, he sings, "I don't wanna be a superman, I just wanna go somewhere and use my hands and keep it simple." Tickets: $30, $40, $45. Call 242-7469.
