[HAWAIIAN MUSIC] Jake Shimabukuro—it's funny that he's known for his fast fingers when his name is such a mouthful. That's right, I went there. This dude is so crafty with the 'ukulele that it's getting him world recognition. The kid's famous! Along with his available CD's and DVD's, Jake has New York and Japan booking him, not to mention his appearance in November on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Now, we all love the 'ukulele—if you live here you have to—but to capture outsider attention is impressive. It must be the way he breaks the barriers of the traditional type of 'ukulele play, which is his foundation, but takes it to another place where no genre is safe.
