Poor Maui Land & Pineapple: The Maui County Council recently delayed approval of their vaunted, luxurious Kapalua Mauka project again. Word is that slow-growth citizens groups like Maui Tomorrow are really putting the pressure on now—demanding answers on water use, massive projected traffic impacts and such before the thing goes back to the council this week. And reversing several weeks of falling, Monsanto moves back up the chart on news that the World Trade Organization (WTO) recently ruled in favor of genetically modified organism producers. Sure helps to have a former Monsanto European general counsel working as WTO deputy director general! MTW
