February 16, 2006 [LEGITIMATE STAGE] This new Maui OnStage comedy concerns an old guy who has a stroke and goes home to die while his countrified daughters battle over his estate. It stars a bunch of good actors, including Rachel Astrella. She plays "trash-talking man-trap" Evalita Turnover. She's just great. In fact, she's so great that… okay, look: I have no idea if Rachel Astrella can act her way out of a paper bag. All I know is that her real life daddy is Maui Time Advertising Executive Brad Chambers, who spends his days getting the paper lots and lots of money so people like me can get paid every two weeks. He's also a pretty big guy who I think once killed a man just to see him die. Long story short, what he likes, I like—and he really likes his daughter, the aforementioned Rachel Astrella. So please go see the play. But please, no talking during her performance. Show runs through March 5. Tickets $18 for adults, $16 for seniors and students and $12 on for everyone on Sundays.
