Albo's Spray
Thursday, 7:30 p.m. at McCoy Studio Theater, MACC

May 11, 2006 [COMEDY] Sounds kind of dirty, doesn't it? But Albo is actually one of them East Coast manics named "Mike," who has a "performance" of sorts he calls "Spray," which includes such comedic elements as dance, irony and dishing on iconic Americanisms like botox, cell phones, undermining best friends, emotional monologues and neurotic narcissism. It's what he calls a "full-frontal frenetic assault" depicted by his wryly observant autobiographical stories. Translation: he's been there, he's done it, he's ready to dish it out. Tickets: $18. Call 242-7469. Oh, and he'll also be reading from his recent novel, The Underminer, on Saturday, noon at Borders Books in Kahului. Free. And he'll do some stand-up shtick at the Maui AIDS Foundation's Miss Ke ala o ka malamalama Pageant on Saturday, 8 p.m. at the Iao Theater.
