Festival of Canoes, cont'd.

[CULTURAL] It's the last few days of the festival—here's what's going on:



Thu-Fri: Canoe carving, stone and tiki carving, pahu drum making and surfboard shaping; Cultural Arts & Crafts Festival with Tongan choral and dance group at Banyan Tree Park, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.



Fri: Parade of Canoes along Front Street, from Lahaina Center (900 Front St.) to Kamehameha Iki Park (525 Front St.) at 6 p.m.



Sat: Ceremonial Launch of Canoes at Kamehameha Iki Park, beachside in Lahaina at 6 p.m.;



Ho'olaule'a festivities with canoes on display, island foods, and concert with The Kahai'ali'i Brothers & Family, Richard Ho'opi'i & 'Ohana, and George & Keoki Kahumoku at Kamehameha Iki Park, 7 to 10 p.m. For more info, call the Lahaina Event Hotline, 1-888-310-1117 (667-9194) for updates.
