[HIP-HOP] It wasn't too difficult to convince me to preview Lo-Boy's upcoming shows. I believe the conversation went something like this:
(Associate Editor): "Would you like to write about Lo-Boy? They're two cute girls who perform hip-hop in bikinis. Or you can blah blah blah blah blah art exhibit, blah blah blah blah community blah blah."
(Me): "Um, Lo-Boy sounds good!"
I'm not typically interested in hip-hop, but hip-hop performed by two smoking hot, scantily clad local girls? Sure boss, no problem. A visit to the groups website, www.lo-boy.com, confirmed their hotness. It also awoke me to the ambition of this homegrown act, whose two Maui shows (their second is later this month, July 20 at Paradice Bluz) are kicking off their "Clean and Sexy" U.S. Tour. Included are stops at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco and the Palms Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Hmm. Lo-Boy on the loose in San Francisco and Vegas? I wonder if they'll need a "Press Liaison?" Or "Sweat Towel Engineer?" No? "Green M&M remover?" Just wondering. Call me! [COREY NIELSEN]
