P.S. 69

Next Thursday, July 13, McCoy Studio Theater

July 06, 2006
[COMEDY] Susan Jeremy's one-woman tour de force, "P.S. 69," poignantly and hilariously portrays life as an inner city substitute teacher/aspiring stripper. Jeremy plays 24 different characters, seamlessly segueing between street-smart fourth graders, burned-out public school teachers, and a hopelessly futile exotic dancer. "69" won the Best Comedy award at the Montreal Fringe Festival, and Jeremy has since heard the praises of everyone from The Boston Globe to The Village Voice to President George W. Bush, who somewhat infamously remarked, "Susan Jeremy is a true American. All able-bodied teachers should follow her example and supplement their meager incomes by any means necessary. She's almost as funny as Larry the Cable Guy!" I'm kidding about Bush, of course. He'd never blaspheme Larry the Cable Guy. But he might appreciate the intelligence and wit of this unique performance. I'm sure you will too. [CN]
