Miss Coco Peru

Thursday, Aug. 24, 7:30 p.m. at the McCoy Studio Theater, MACC

August 17, 2006
[COMEDY] I don't consider myself a girlie girl. I cuss like a sailor, drink like a fish, have the nastiest jokes and kick it with the guys on a regular basis. But there is a side of me that absolutely adores shopping, shoes and make-up. Playing dress-up is one of my favorite things to do. Although I'm never really "dressing up" in order to be someone else. If I look like a schoolteacher, it's because I'm feeling bookish and don't necessarily want to be noticed. If I look like a sex kitten, it's because I'm feeling sassy and sexy. For the people who know who they are, what you put on the outside represents who you are on the inside. Storyteller/Monologist Miss Coco Peru is one such character. Tall and slender, with beautiful blue eyes and fiery red wig, this queen has starred in shows, appeared in films, and been heard on radio broadcasts. Get ready for who LA Weekly calls the "most girlish and glamorous, funniest, mouthiest diva/icon/trannie/comedian." Tickets: $18. Call 242-7469. [HEIDI KING]
