Maui Land & Pine rises to the top on word that the Maui County Board of Ethics has dismissed a complaint that company VP Warren Suzuki shouldn't have voted at a Maui County General Plan Advisory Committee meeting in June. For now, at least, the company's voice on the committee dedicated to thrashing out a new county General Plan is safe and secure. And A&B drops a notch on news that the Ethics Board declined to take any action on an anonymous complaint that County Council Members Bob Carroll, G. Riki Hokama, Dain Kane, Mike Molina and Joe Pontanilla dined in February at the company's behest at Mama's Fish House. The Ethics Board said there was nothing wrong with the dinner, but their action on the complaint did bring about an additional mention of the infamous dinner in both this paper and The Maui News. MTW
