November 23, 2006 [STORYTELLING FESTIVAL] A few of Hawai`i's better known storytellers will be performing their craft as well as teaching. Tom Cummings, "a traditional master storyteller," is also known as one of the Bishop Museum's "treasures." Cummings will be teaching two of the workshops earlier on Saturday. Kathy Collins, the Mana`o radio personality and woman from the "Tita says no litta" campaign, will be performing as well as teaching in a workshop entitled "Kealoha." Not to be confused with the workshop title, Kealoha Wong will be performing some slam poetry. Wong is a slam contest winner and a pioneer of the Honolulu slam poetry scene. Wong has been the host at Studio 1's "First Thursday" since 2003. The weekly event is one of the nations most attended slam poetry contests. Tickets for the performance are $20, and $10 for the workshops (various, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.). Call 242-7469 for more info and tickets. [KEITH BENEDICT]
