[FREE MEDITATION TALKS] It isn't every day you get to listen for free to a "living Buddha" speak about meditation, healing, wisdom and an "enlightened mind." But for the next week, you can do exactly that because Master Yu Tian Jian, also known as DeChan JueRen, also known as "the 49th Acharya and only living master of the Chinese Hanmi School," will appear around the island live—and for free! (For more info, check www.LightAwakeningTemple.com) On Nov. 30, Master Yu will speak at Seichi No Ie (111 Kane St. in Kahului) at 6:30 p.m. On Dec. 1, he'll appear at the Lahaina Jodo Mission—with the band Crazy Fingers!—from noon to 7 p.m. Then nightly from Dec. 2 through Dec. 6 Master Yu will speak at the Unity Church in Wailuku (482 High St.) at 6 p.m. He'll also conduct a number of workshops for money (prices range from $60 to $1,800).
