[ELECTRONIC MUSIC] Followers of Bassnectar are quite passionate about the vibrational pollen this DJ spins. Lorin Ashton, a.k.a. Bassnectar, has continually been voted #1 DJ in his hometown, San Francisco. He says his moniker, Bassnectar, represents an amalgamation of every sound he's ever heard, "mixed with ultra wicked basslines." This subsequent Bassnectar sound includes (but is not limited to) "breakbeat, drum 'n bass, trip hop, glitch hop, whisky, wanderlust, parody, gangsta rap, '60s devotional space rock, dancehall, raga, Balkan, raw grinding boom shaka laka and an eclectic obsession with endlessness…" Or, as All Music Guide states: "A kaleidoscopically brilliant funk conception."
