Maui County
The Agenda
Maui County Council
|
May 31, 2007 Fri., June 1, 9 a.m.
Generosity permeates this week's meeting. Sprint-Nextel Corp. is giving the police a fund grant, out of the goodness of its metaphorical heart. And the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company is struck by the same thought apparently, granting the Department of Fire and Public Safety some funds of their own. The Park Maintenance Program gives $47,175 of its budget to the Iron Maehara Baseball Stadium. Oh, and the Velma McWayne Santos Community Center's gonna be closed from Nov. 19, 2007 until Mar. 9, 2008. There will be hell to pay for that one.
Urban Development Review Board
Tues., June 5, 9 a.m.
The Parks and Recreation Director is requesting a "Special Management Area Use Permit and a Phase 2 Project District Approval" for the big, new Kihei park. And the Hyatt wants to get a permit for a pavilion pool bar and restaurant. I know they have those things all over the resorts, but to me it sounds like a swimming accident waiting to happen.
