[STAGE] The Full Monty was a 1997 film that featured six unemployed steel workers who decided to bare all onstage. It was a story about male empowerment, really. And freedom. Ha ha. Anyway, the movie inspired a Broadway musical in 2000, albeit slightly Americanized. But they're still unemployed steelworkers who decide to make some cash by doing a male striptease after seeing how a touring Chippendales-esque crew makes their women so randy. They have to work through all kinds of fears, anxieties and body-issues (yeah, join the club, guys) and in the process, find strength in friendship and teamwork. I wonder if they hold hands naked… Tickets: $20 adults, $18 seniors and students. Sundays, $15. Friday-Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Sundays, 5 p.m. For info or tickets visit www.mauionstage.com or call 242-6969. An adults only production due to language and themes. I'll say. [SAMANTHA CAMPOS]
