August 09, 2007 "While their parents were yachting near Maui Island, Margaret Ellen ("Peggy") and Nackey Elizabeth, young daughters of Editorial Director Robert Paine Scripps (Scripps-Howard Newspapers) went with their governess to pick flowers at the Oahu Country Club outside Honolulu. Driving back, their native chauffeur leaned out to arrange the flowers, let the car plunge over a 25-foot embankment. Director Scripps and wife sped back by airplane, found Daughter Peggy with broken skull and ankles, Daughter Nackey with internal injuries, but the whole party out of danger."
