"Past the glowing orb of the moonlit sky…"
Sunday (Sept. 23) from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. at the Wo Hing temple and museum, Lahaina

September 20, 2007
[CELEBRATION] I love the moon. I love moon-bows. I love to howl at it and dance under it naked. I love memories of shivering in the cold damp air in the middle of a field while gazing up at its shiny, moony splendor. This year the  Wo Hing Society and Lahaina Restoration Foundation will celebrate the Chinese Moon Festival. It's said that the festival is good for reunions and romance. If lovers are apart from each other during the festival, they can still gaze at the moon and know that they're connected spiritually, if not physically. On hand will be a Chinese Moon Festival display, mooncakes, souvenir items a lion dance and martial arts demonstrations by the Maui Chinese Martial Arts Academy. There will also be ancient Chinese musical performances played by Maui's own Brandon Collins. Admission: $1. For more information call 661-5553. [STARR BEGLEY]
