[FUNDRAISER/FESTIVAL] A unique mix of wild, exotic and domestic animals call the East Maui Animal Refuge (EMAR) home. A blind miniature horse, amputee owls, kitties with cancer and a deer with a broken back share the no kill, volunteer-run,non-profit animal rehabilitation center, affectionately known as the "Boo Boo Zoo." Now caring for 300-400 of these exceptional critters at a time, many who would have no place at other Maui animal care establishments, is expensive. But this year EMAR is a beneficiary of the 25th Annual St. John's Kula Festival. The festivities will include an enormous rummage sale, live and silent auctions, keiki activities, live entertainment, food, produce and the return of the oh-so-popular teahouse. You can help support the animals by donating rummage (no furniture, electronics or appliances, please) or by shopping, bidding, eating and generally enjoying yourself on the beautiful grounds of St. Johns. www.booboozoo.org for more info.
