September 27, 2007 [ART RECEPTION] I can't help myself. I love art. Not all art, just good art. And I love the work of Robena. Her art is fantastically colorful, expressive and huge. Her paintings make a bold statement and her expert use of scale, color and mood will turn you on. The first piece of Robena's that I saw was an untitled, huge 64" by 68" canvas of orange flowers. It was captivating… And then I discovered some of her other paintings– freakishly realistic portraits and still life that looks like you could pick it up. The way she paints light and reflection is truly amazing. She's also done some amazing landscapes that are so grand in size you literally feel as though you are in the scene. According to Robena, "The way the world is today, I think it's a good thing for people to just stop and look at simple things and just, you know, breathe."
