It's a hot day on Front Street when a primal urge hits you and your lady friend. You know that it's best to act on this urge, but what do you do when you're surrounded by tourists? Duck into this little shop and act on your instincts; don't stop until you're satiated! We're talking about ice cream, of course. Eating the haupia flavor can be a little unusual, though. Cold Stone Creamery
Want to get in touch with your kinky side? You can start off by having them sing as they service you. At Coldstone's, they're obligated to—if you tip them. If you like your ice cream topped with a tad bit of embarrassment and a lot of resignation, in addition to their usual complement of berries and chocolate sauce, then this is the place for you. 291 Pi'ikea Ave., Kihei, 875-8811; 900 Front St. Lahaina, 667-2744. Tasaka Guri Guri
When you're caught in the throes of passion, it's tough to remember the little things, like what color underwear your lover is wearing. Likewise, I don't really know what flavors of cold deliciousness Guri Guri serves. I've referred to their flavors as " and "orange" since before I could even see over the counter. Whatever they are, they're wonderful. Maui Mall, Kahului, 871-4513. $
Lappert's Ice Cream and Coffee
I like my guys the way I like my ice cream: cheap, easy and a little on the sketchy side. But through the years, I've learned that it's okay to go that extra mile—for ice cream, at least. Lappert's offers premium ice cream with an island twist. Flavors include Kauai Pie, Guava Sorbet and Caramel Coconut Macadamia Nut. Koho Grill & Bar
The fact that Koho's isn't an ice cream joint per se is totally made up by their amazing ice cream desserts. The Kilauea Snowball is a legendary island crowd pleaser, but the Chocolate Sundae is perfect for when you feel a sin coming on. Queen Ka'ahumanu Shopping Center, Kahului, 877-5588.
