You just never know where the donkeys are going to show up. Having hiked the Waihe‘e Ridge trail over a dozen times, I mistakenly believed that I didn’t have anything to worry about when I parked my car up there last week. Maybe it was the fact that I had recently upgraded from my old Maui Cruiser to a newer vehicle, which gave you a reason to believe I might have left something valuable in my car. The humor of knowing that our wallets and cell phones were in our pockets almost overshadowed the disgust we felt when we came back from a great hike to find our car window smashed and the glove box open. Where’s the aloha? It’s not so much the car, since insurance covers that. It’s the fact that there are jackasses like yourself who feel they can just cruise up to people’s property and vandalize it in order to… get enough money to go and buy some beer? Something worse? People shouldn’t have to think twice when they park their vehicles in order to enjoy the island. Still, there is some aloha left on the island: you nearly left us in a bad spot with no window and a rainy weekend. Luckily we pulled into Ace Auto Glass just as they closed, and they stayed late to give us a temporary fix for what you destroyed. I guess you probably don’t know (or care) that windows aren’t always in stock on the island. Then again, your lack of respect and aloha led me to someone who still exemplifies that.
