EHBRAH

June 19, 2008
This one goes out to the totally insensitive wahine who rear-ended my girlfriend in Haiku. First, you came barreling around a blind turn going way too fast, then you hit my girlfriend who slowed down to avoid an accident with a van going around the same blind turn on the wrong side of the road. My girlfriend moved to the next safe spot on the road in order to exchange information. But you just stuck your head out your window and in your “professional” opinion said it didn’t look like there was any major damage and that you were late for work and sped off! Guess what? Our baby was in the back seat and you gave my girlfriend whiplash. Also, there was more damage than you thought. In your disrespectful arrogance did you forget that that a hit and run is a felony! Luckily, my girlfriend got your license number and called the cops. It’s only a matter of time before they find you. After all, we live on an island and probably in the same town. What the hell we’re you thinking? Only if you had stopped to make sure everyone was OK, this would be a different situation.

I love the saying Slow down dis aint the Mainland! I see that bumper sticker all the time as I am being passed by an idiot going way too fast. At least practice what you preach if you have that sticker on your car.

Maybe a new sticker would be better " Slow Down EVERYONE regardless of where you are from!"

    Unfortunate Actions
    June 20, 2008 | 06:33 PM

It seems that evertime I drive to Kailua that I am ALWAYS threatened by the Huelo and Kaenae youngsters who think they own the road. The other day I was heading toward town and a truck was speeding around the curve heading towards Huelo and was about a third of the way in my lane. I didn't swerve out of their way far enough (by their standards) so they vocalized their typical opinion with a chant of "Stupid Hoale" and told me via sign language that I was number "1". Unfotunately, it will probably be the same youngtsers who cause a serious crash due to their lack of respect for the community that they live in. Too bad living Aloha is mostly a thing of the past but what is more disturbing is how people are living in a world of hate and anger. I pray that our community learns to come back together one day. Good luck to all and I hope that you are able to avoid the experiences I have had.

    Aloha...

    Its not right
    June 20, 2008 | 11:14 PM

Why is everyone in a hurry around here? I too have been nearly hit by someone going around the corner too fast. Then to be yelled at...stupid Haole. Hmm maybe you need to reevaluate you idea of what stupid really is. Just because we moved here does not mean we don't have the right to be safe...

Ok Ok Im ready for the only comes backs there are " You don't like it move, or We were born here..yap yap yap. But in reality EVERYONE REGARDLESS OF WHERE THEY ARE FROM has the right to be safe!

Blame it on the tourists, blame it on the Haole. But in reality it is the locals that are messing up. Because they think that since they were born here they have the right to act however they want.

    blame game
