November 13, 2008 Earnest devotion is an almost too-easy target for mockery. But, as with all satire, the right delivery can still make it funny as hell. Enter The Onion, "America's Finest News Source," and their post-election parody news piece titled "Obama Win Causes Obsessive Supporters to Realize How Empty Their Lives Are." The video features footage of young people decked out in head-to-toe Barackwear wandering zombie-like through the streets, muttering about voter registration and the need for change. As one "interviewee"—the roommate of an Obama supporter—puts it: "Up until yesterday, he was so annoying that I wanted to kill him. Now I just want my old, condescending Obama-obsessed friend back." –JS
