Sure to be more fun than a barrel of monkeys, the 2nd Annual Comedy Night at the Historic Iao Theater will cap off the night of festivities at Wailuku's September First Friday. "By special arrangement with PETA," "smoking monkeys" will provide wine service in this presentation by Maui Onstage, sponsored by the Hawaii Tourism Authority. There's no cover to attend this evening of laughs, emceed by Michael Pulliam. Featured stand-up comedians include Kathy Collins, James Shoemaker, Curtis "Chino" LaForge, and Corky. Café Marc Aurel continues to display the artwork of Anne Provost featuring the collage portrait, "Kathy Collins—Tita—Memorabilia Table," or perhaps try out your own comedic verse at Gallerie Ha's Aloha Poetry Slam. For those who just want to party, check out Maui-based acid rockers, Mojomana (7:30pm, no cover), also at Marc Aurel, the local jams of Hawaiian by Nature, hosted by Maui Thing, and Sweet Spot who will play at the Banyan Tree Park.
