Football State Championship Quarterfinals

Nov. 20 (Friday), 6pm, War Memorial Stadium, Wailuku

November 19, 2009
When I was in high school, I was part of the sports med. team. Everyone always referred to us as the water girls, but I did wrap ankles, ice various appendages and every so often, I was tackled by a wayward football player. Good times, good times. Of course, this did warp my view of the sport. Instead of joining in on pre- and post-game activities, I wonder about ice baths and whether or not the players are adequately hydrated. I don't think about touchdowns or yards gained, rather my mind is filled with torn ligaments and muscle cramps. But I digress. You should definitely hit up the state championship quarterfinals football game at War Memorial, a showdown between Baldwin and Leileihua. Cheer for our players in blue and maroon, and if you really get into it, rush to their aid with water bottles and athletic tape.
