December 10, 2009 Time to bust out the patchouli oil and sandals. Has anyone seen my white Fair Trade yoga pants? Oh wait, there they are. Shoot, all my bras are in the laundry—that's fine I'll just go without one. Why all the excitement? Well (wait for it…) Krishna Das will be holding a concert at The Studio. Krishna Das, for those unfamiliar, is a world-renowned chant master and is the best-known U.S. vocalist of kirtan, or Indian devotional music. According to a New York Times article, his concerts are "a mix of religious revival meeting, a Grateful Dead concert and summer camp." (If that's true, I'll be packing my organic pepper spray in my hemp bag.) Teasing aside, Krishna Das's chanting is beautiful, spiritual and altogether calming. And since I'm pretty much just nerves held together by spit and coffee, that's saying something. $25 presale, $30 door www.thestudiomaui.com
