Permaculture Group Native Christmas Tree Sale

December 10, 2009 This is such an awesome idea that I can't even make fun of it. Instead of cutting down a tree this Christmas or buying an imported one, you can decorate a live, potted and locally grown tree, courtesy of the Makawao-based Permaculture Group. And when the holidays are over, you can plant it! This is good because: a) you'll be helping the environment; b) you'll be giving native plants a chance to thrive; c) you'll be helping attract native birds; d) it'll help with Maui's watershed; and e) you won't have to spend all your time cleaning up pine needles. But seriously, this is an amazing idea. Choose between ohi'a lehua (endemic), kulu'i (endemic and endangered), and ha'o.
