This goes out to the jackasses I saw hunting deer with a bow out of a black pickup in Makena. Not only did you maliciously kill the deer, but you left it to rot on the side of the road. Inhumane jerks...your time will come! Talk about lack of pono.

Do you know if the hunters came back later for the carcass? Did YOU call D.L.N.R.? What did YOU do with the carcass? I don't agree with hunting from the back of a pick up just because its dangerous for other humans and non target species, but did you know that the pig, goat, sheep, and AXIS DEER—contribute to the destruction of native habitats. HAPPY HUNTING!

    COMMON SENSE
    May 31, 2010 | 02:30 PM

It seems every now and then, that certain people lack common sense. The act of killing the deer had nothing to do with the eradication of a destructive species or with providing food for a family. It is simply malicious and outright dumb to kill; then to leave it deliberately to rot. The act fell into an atrocity towards all living things as an inhumane act. It proved nothing in favor of the hunter. If you checked your records; the DLNR will not pick up a rotted carcass; neither will the county; and neither will the ACO'S. The task was left to the Wailea Golf course personnel. For the smart asses-their time will come!!!

I'm so depressed these days. I just can't seem to even get interested in telling people to leave the island. So, who should I tell off? The deer? The hunters? The person complaining. I suspect that we are all just guilty, in a lukewarm, tawdry sort of way.

    Re-COMMON SENSE
    June 01, 2010 | 10:57 PM

HELLO?!? Did THEY call DLNR to REPORT the hunters? NO! they did NOTHING but wine about it and tried to find a reason to use the word PONO in their rant! Do you know for sure that the hunters never came back for the carcass? How do you know that Wailea Golf course personnel cleaned it up? Did you stay their all day and night to check? Maybe the hunters realized that Captain hypocrite saw them and was about to pull his pono card, so they left?!
By the way? Have you ever been hunting?
Instead of checking your records you should check your assumptions!
FYI. Maui Humane Society will pick it up if you call and report it! Dumb Ass!

So I googled Alihikaua, just to see who he is, and he has put a picture of his dick on the web for all to see. Pretty uninspiring sight, too. If you must see, it is here:

I didn't love it, so i left it
    June 02, 2010 | 07:21 PM

Ah...so, if you are here for several generations, you can say "leave the island!" Okay, I can see that.

I don't even live on the island. I didn't love it, so I beat it (in fact, I beat it while looking at a photo of Alihikaua). So, can I still say "leave the island!" After all, the hawaiians are an invasive species, too.

Leave the Island! (And come hither!)

    Just so you know...

We came back for the deer. We had to drive home to drop off our crossbow so that we wouldn't get in trouble with the police. Sorry Mr. Officer, I found this dead dear with an arrow in it and brought it home. I am a hunter. I appreciate and recognize the sacrifice this animal made to put a delicious meal on my table. The irony is that unless you are a vegetarian, you saw an animal who was dead, realized how sad it was, and did not take the animal home to eat (and in turn at least bring some validation to the deers seemingly meaningless death.) Go to McDonalds, buy a cheeseburger, and pretend that it was never a living breathing creature.
