Forget ABC's Lost. Anyone else hooked on the History Channel's new series Ancient Aliens? OK. I know it's just another one of the network's way weird, rather nonsensical shows—but I can't help myself. Gimme gimme those crazy conspiracies! (Mostly, I like watching the hyper-bronzed enthusiasm of Giorgio Tsoukalos, who has freakier hair than I do, which is saying a lot.) Marrying the mysteriousness of our final frontiers, Aliens and related programs showcase enthusiasts who theorize USOs may be hiding in the unknown abysses of our deep-sea trenches. On the other hand, the Pacific Whale Foundation proves that capturing the intrigue of both sea and sky can be done in an entirely un-weird (and more fun) way. Join them tonight—and on each full moon—for a special take on their evening cruise offering. Under the added glow of nature's natural satellite/spotlight, award-winning astronomer Harriet Witt narrates the night sky. In addition to your brain, the cruise aims to fill your opu, too. Chow includes an on-deck BBQ featuring Maui Cattle Co. beef, plus imbibe-ables like the foundation's own "famous Mai Tais" and Maui Brew Co. beers. Speaking of which, throughout our winter whale season, the Brew Co.'s Brewpub has dedicated its "Pint Night" benefit to the PWF. May marks the last installment—and your last chance to "save the whales with ales." PWF: www.pacificwhale.org 249-8811/ Brewpub: 669-3474
