August 04, 2010 | 06:32 PM DJ Ray Masters—a decade-long veteran of the North Shore dance scene—is turning up the tunes at Moana Café (MauiTime's reader pick for Best Open Mic Night), with his trademark "European sensibility and Miami style glamor." Every three weeks, he hosts a sexy, themed party titled "Ray's House" (because he spins house music and the café has come to feel like home). This Friday, channel the buzz of downtown Tokyo with "The Sushi Mushi Dance Party" by dressing up like a glamorous geisha and indulging in the sushi bar, open until midnight… [Friday, August 6, 9:30pm-2am, Moana Café, Paia, $10 cover, moanacafe.com, 579-9999] If you're still keen on costuming, bus' out your best pin-up girl threads for "a naughty night of retro style vintage love" at South Shore Tiki Lounge (a multi-award winner in this year's BOM). The whole locale will be adorned with pin-up perfect art by Rachel G, Yvette Yvelle, Francis Halloran, and Teddi Martinez, while Island Girl Pin-Ups, teaming up with Bohemia Boutique, unveil stunning makeovers. Should you be so inspired, pose with, in or on a 1950s Ford Thunderbird and 1929 Ford Woody Wagon (thanks to Maui Classic Cruisers), all to the tunes of Cudra Clover and Kanoa.
