The American people are to the major political parties as a battered woman is to her two deadbeat boyfriends. Just ask Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell.
Last week, still basking in the pale glow of the GOP's election gains, McConnell addressed the Heritage Foundation, a right-wing think tank. Between promising to turn back "the liberal onslaught" and fight the "left-wing wish list," McConnell made one surprisingly honest admission: "Voters didn't suddenly fall in love with Republicans; they fell out of
love with Democrats." - JS
