Eh lady at the playground who disciplined my son...thanks! Seriously. A lot of people get offended by that, but you were right on: he was being a little jerk (like all kids can be) and I was busy with my daughter. Other parents—or big brothers and sisters, or concerned adults—should step in when appropriate, but a lot of times they don't because of all the overprotective moms and dads out there who think their keiki are the only ones on Earth who've never done a thing wrong. I'd honestly give other people permission to smack my progeny upside the head once in a while—but maybe that'd be going too far.
