Picks of the Week
Melinda Hill
|
January 12, 2011 | 02:11 PM There was a time when men chivalrously laid their jackets in a pool of water to gain a woman's affection and women longingly awaited quill-penned love letters from suitors. They were suckers indeed. Fast forward to the 21st century and who needs to work that hard at romancing? With the advent of social media like Facebook and Match, one can easily wink, like, tweet or poke (um, technically speaking) their latest love interest. Blond bombshell, comedian, writer and actress Melinda Hill certainly agrees. Straight from the Comedy Central Stage at The Hudson in Los Angeles and numerous appearances on late-night TV, Melinda is bringing her hilarious production, Marriage Material, to Maui. The show—an interactive run-down of the dating scene's many pitfalls—is great for singles, couples, ladies, dudes, tourists and, really, anyone who appreciates a good laugh. 242-7469, mauiarts.org [Dali Singh]
Thursday (January 13), 7:30pm, McCoy Studio Theater, MACC, $25/$45 VIP
