Whole Foods Birthday Bash

Maui Mall's anchor store, Whole Foods Market, celebrates one year on Maui with a slew of activities, starting with birthday cake on Thursday, February 24, at noon. Seriously--who doesn't love free cake? And you just know it'll be organic and all natural. If that's not enough to whet your appetite, they'll be screening the documentary Turning the Canoe, a film about sustainability on Maui, and offering samples from every department on Friday. Also planned is a festival on Saturday and Sunday showcasing a taste-bud tour of the islands courtesy of vendors like Maui Cattle Company, Tedeschi Winery, Hana Fresh and Maui Coffee, along with some of Oahu's finest. Finally, the Whole Foods Market Gallery will host an opening on Saturday with new art and a chance to meet the artists, plus light refreshments. Dig in. 872-3310

    oh please, whole foods is the "anchor store of maui mall". get real. so, was the mall aimlessly adrift prior to whole foods docking in maui mall? it's more like long's drug store is the anchor. being a maui resident for over a decade, if i had to choose between keeping one store and losing the other, it'd be a(loha) (w)hole foods. no waste food, too
