Every belly give a big welcome to two new casual restaurants opening on Maui: Jay's Place at the Wharf (661-6699) and Cafe Central Catering & Drive-In (249-2693). Jay's Place replaces the closed Mulligan's at the Wharf, while Cafe Central is opening in the old Dad's Donut location at Hart's Corner on Vineyard Street in Wailuku.

Tutti Frutti in Kahului is running a Maui Food Bank promotion for the month of April—bring in a canned good and get 15 percent off frozen yogurt. They have close to ten options at all times in their self-serve lineup; try Kulolo or Maui coffee flavor and cover it with whatever toppings you like.

This Saturday at the Lipoa Street Farmers' Market, Whole Foods is getting in the mix with breakfast foods and grab-and-go lunches. It starts at 8am, with many small local farmers dishing Maui eggs, pineapple, herbs, tomatoes and much more.

Finally, the Melting Pot celebrates National Cheese Fondue Day on 4/11
by giving away glorious, free cheese fondue for four days. Reservations required (661-6181).
