Sam Slom Births Some Nonsense
|
April 27, 2011 | 02:00 PM Uncomfortably Slom
In case you were wondering, Sam Slom of Oahu, the last remaining Republican in the state Senate, isn't a birther "per se." That's what Slom told conservative talk show host Aaron Klein of WABC radio this week, in a 13-minute interview about—what else?—President Obama's birth certificate.
Slom conceded that Obama was "probably" born in Hawaii but suggested "the real issue is not the birth certificate, but what's on the birth certificate." Like? "It could have to do with what his name is on the birth certificate, who is actually listed as his father, the citizenship of the father."
Could be. Or maybe he's embarrassed about the way his tiny ink footprint came out. Or maybe he's allergic to birth certificates, and if he's in the same room as one he breaks out in hives. Unfounded accusations are fun!
Before ominously promising to "keep up the hunt," Slom did offer one unfortunately accurate piece of analysis: "[This issue] isn't gonna die."
