Best of Maui 2011

HERE ARE THE WINNERS!

And so much more. See, we've done a lot of Best of Maui issues. We've done them up with comics and Vegas glitz. We've shot them in 3D and made them look like celebrity tabloids. We've done big, splashy themes and subdued themes. And you know what? We're exhausted.

So this year we had an idea. Why not just give readers what they really want—the winners—but with a twist. This year, we'll give them a rundown on everyone who won, but for the first time we'll SHOW you who they beat, and by how much. For every Best of Maui item, you'll get an info-graph showing the winning percentage as well as those of the two closest runners-up and a summary of the rest. You'll see the data just like we do—how some winners blew away the competitors, and HOW others barely squeaked by to victory. You'll also get some bonus graphs that provide a little context—and humor—to some of the more popular categories.

Along the way, we've integrated the web and print versions of this issue as never before. We'll be using Twitter to announce each and every BOM winner, and you can find those tweets in these pages, along with links and QR codes to expanded write-ups on the winners posted on our website. And if you've never used or heard of QR codes before this second, and have access to a smart phone, just use the handy guide to the left and enjoy!

So who's the fuckdamn shitcunt that turned this issue of MT into an unreadable piece of piss-tit rags? Bad enough we have undecipherable graphs explaining the rankings done by some cocksucker, but the flip to the side just made the thing look like a motherfucker.

I, for one, liked the format and rankings. However, I cant find a phone listing for this "Other" business that seems to really be the #1 ranked winner in almost every category.

To put it a bit more civilly, I for one think the decision to rotate the "Best of Maui" issue was a really bad one. It makes it almost unnavigable and barely readable. Please stay away from that in the future. MTW has become difficult enough to read with the font size and contrast choices you already use.

What a horrible idea to print your paper sideways. Very high school with a failing grade in journalism. Not even readable...I feel bad for all the winners of "The Best Of" issue. You really did them a disservice

    Congratulations for trying something new

Although the orientation of the layout was hard to read I give you props for trying something new! I thought the graphs were a nice design element but it would have been nice to be able to access more results.
On a side note, I'm surprised AntiSec had the intelligence and ability to pass the test to prove humanity. Its sad when someone can't express themselves in a smart and constructive way. Its easy to tear things down but let me ask what you've ever done?
