The world is stunned into silence January 18, 2010 | 01:05 PM
Well Rob, I think it is a little sad that no one commented here to thank you for your years of columns, and to wish you good luck in your future enterprise.
I have to admit, I almost missed it in your column. Maybe not many people plowed all the way through to the end.
I feel for you. The one time you were genuine and treated yourself with a bit of good-natured irony and realism--when you treated your dog for fleas!--you got attacked by a bunch of self-righteous, sanctimonious stoners. When you stayed true to your audience, and gave them what they wanted, it sounded like you just jumbled together a bunch of words that would come out of the mouth of a soon-to-be-single-mom trustifarian just arrived from completing her degree in "sustainable agriculture" at Santa Cruz: sustainable, local, permaculture, blah blah, kokua, water belongs to the collective, anti-corporate, pointless posturing. I don't see how you could continue this column when you had to sound like a retard just to please an audience that doesn't really read you anyway.
Good luck selling wind generators with no moving parts.
