Opinions Are Welcome!
February 23, 2010 | 11:36 AM

Just a note to let you know that I appreciate reading your opinions in this forum. Opinions are fun and I like to write about them, especially in articles. I would like to clarify a few things:

1. Source is not a "regional Burn" - Hawaii's official regional Burning Man events are organized by a local group called Ka Pilina, which is directly affiliated with Burning Man. I was very careful with the language I chose to make sure there was no confusion.

2. Inspired by the Burning Man experience, Source has the same ethics at heart. Just like Burning Man, it can only be as good as what people bring to the table (you don't sit back and "attend", you jump in make it better!). It's in its 3rd year, so I agree comparing it to an event that has been going on for 24 years is kind of unfair....they're just starting out! I have experienced Burning Man a handful of times as well, and I have decided its better to give the Source Crew the chance to grow and develop...

3. It's a great idea to bring out your best all year long and make friends without paying for it. It's also a great idea to rent a space with a bunch of these friends and put your heads together on a few creative projects and some really neat ideas.

4. Children seeing boobs? Gosh I don't know any children who have ever seen a boob, but I hear their brains explode immediately when they do.

p.s. These are my personal opinions, and should not be confused with the opinions of Maui Time Weekly.
