Well, if you want special rights for natives, I don't think that should depend on whether a woman turned down a man's advances. And I don't know what is perverted about a man wanting contact with a woman.

Mr. Conklin's ideal, of being excellent to each other, sounds pretty good. Now, for those who would rather see sovereignty or special rights for natives, that's fine to hold that opinion. I think your opinion should speak for itself, rather than relying on whether someone named "Conklin" is getting any or not.

As a haole from the mainland, I can morally support looking for a better situation that works for the natives--as long as my rights are respected. If I were to get a respectful letter from the Kingdom of Hawaii informing me of my deportation, if that's what it takes I would pack my bags and say "see ya!". But the idea of creating a roll of "qualified native constituents" sounds like a dismal march into a swamp.

My preferred solution to make everyone happy: reinstate the Kingdom of Hawaii, and offer citizenship and equal rights to all comers. You know, aloha for all. Even Conklin would like that, right?
