Allowing beat men to self-interpret the law speaks volumes about who is really running MPD: politicians and $$$$, or true law enforcers. Another bothersome issue is Dog Chapman's religious facade, moralizing to others about evil ways, but under scrutiny seems to surround himself with the less than pious. If Dog were to fire that security guy for his bad decision, I don't think like behavior would repeat. Likewise, if MPD suspended Johnson and fire same if found guilty, this above-reproach attitude—that fails to protect Maui citizens—would stop.
Intern'l attention well-deserved. Will have more in upcoming Hono Weekly issue in Honolulu. Best to keep the pressure on. Chapman needs to comment as does MPD chief.
